There are so many reasons to become a tourist in your own city. You can discover new places, find your new favourite spot, learn more about the culture, become a new you!
We recently decided to be tourists in our own city and explore Toronto. There was so much we had yet to discover!
Did you know that Toronto has an entire alley dedicated to graffiti? Similar to that of Hosier Lane in Melbourne, Australia, Toronto has it’s own rad art scene. Located at Queen West and Portland, artists spray their best art for Torontonians to explore. The art is constantly changing, so visiting once every few months is highly suggested!
Of course we’ve been to the ROM before, but probably not since our 6th grade field trip! The Chihuly exhibit is one to see, and look out for the monthly parties at the ROM. I checked out the Fashion Night at the ROM and it was incredible.
While the weather is currently quite frigid, the Scarborough Bluffs are a must see. They offer a little escape from the city, and let you pretend you are on some remote island! We went when the weather was warmer, but I’d imagine the site is one to see with all of the ice and snow!
Why not escape the winter for the afternoon and head down to Allan’s Botanical Garden. Open until 5pm on most nights, the garden provides an escape from the cold weather and makes you feel as though you are a tropical island. P.S. you can get some awesome photos in here!
