Now that March is here, is anyone else dreaming about spring? I know I am! I’ll admit that aside from only a few storms, we got off pretty easy this winter. That being said, spring is just a couple of weeks away and I’m ready to welcome the season with open arms. I can’t wait for longer days, more sunshine and milder weather. I’m also looking forward to getting the ugly snow tires taken off my car.
While spring doesn’t officially begin until later this month, I like to start my spring cleaning at the beginning of March. It might still be cold outside, but there’s no reason why you shouldn’t embrace the new season now. I always start with my bedroom.
5 Ways To Make Your Bedroom Feel Like Spring:
1. Fresh Spring Flowers
I don’t know if it’s the blogger in me, but I adore fresh flowers. I use flowers as props for my photos, but even when I’m not shooting, I like to have them around. Fresh flowers make me happy, so I like to treat myself. The grocery store has so many beautiful (and affordable) options. I can’t wait for the fresh tulips!
2. Diffuse bright, cheerful essential oils
Regardless of the season, I love diffusing essential oil blends. For fall and winter, I prefer scents that are spicy and warming. On the other hand, I prefer brighter, cheery, uplifting blends for spring. I’ve been diffusing “Liquid Sunshine” from Saje Wellness for the last couple of weeks because the smell reminds me of a spring morning. It’s an instant mood changer.
3. Put away your heavy winter clothing
Even though March weather is unpredictable, by this point in the season, I’m ready to trade my winter knits for spring layers. If you’re not going to wear your heavy winter sweaters or holiday sparkle anymore, there’s no reason to keep them in your closet. Put them away and start bringing out some of your spring-y clothes.
4. Change your winter linens for lighter fabrics
Now that the nights aren’t as cold, do you really need all of those extra blankets and flannel sheets? During the winter, I usually keep an extra throw or two on my bed, since it can get so cold on those deep winter nights. The other day, I put them away, and it made my bedroom feel ready for spring.
5. Buy new hangers and organization bins
I know the idea of spring cleaning is cliché, but it will definitely make your bedroom feel ready spring. If you’re not sure where to begin, or you don’t feel motivated to clean, try buying a few new storage pieces. That always puts me in the mood to organize.
What will you do to get your bedroom ready for spring?
