Ladies, you may want to chime in and participate in this one! Blogger, speaker and award winning campaign founder, Chidera Eggerue has started a campaign you are sure to love. Chidera regularly showcases her not so perky assets via social media and has started the #SaggyBoobsMatter movement to encourage women everywhere to join in.
What, you say?
Yes, that’s right! You can now love your pair without having surgery to flaunt them! Natural is best in this situation – and clothing encouraged but not mandatory. I mean, who hasn’t hated their boobs at one point or another. Mine have gone from a DD perfection to a C that is surprisingly still holding up after breastfeeding my kids for almost 5 years straight, but damn do I miss my DD Pamela Anderson rack!
Babies don’t care about how perky your boobs are; they just wanna be fed. Men aren’t and will never be in a position to tell women ‘how to be a woman’. Impressing men isn’t even a goal worth making. As long as you have a female reproductive organ, men (cis-het) will naturally be drawn to you anyway. Nature doesn’t recognise beauty standards. There is literally no wrong way to be a woman. There is literally no wrong way to have a body as long as your body is functioning well enough to keep you alive. – Chidera
So much truth in her statements, the truth is that boobs, like other body parts, come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and should be used for their function and not just as a vision of perfection made by mostly male counterparts.
This mission is one that will not fade lightly – this campaign is one to stay ladies, so embrace it and wear your body parts proud! Chidera’s mission started as a series of statements and have evolved into a whole new society of women everywhere who have felt this way but have been afraid to show it. Now you can with the #SaggyBoobsMatter hashtag and no one will judge – okay, maybe some losers on Instagram – but they don’t count!
Who knows, if this catches on there may be a shortage in the plastic surgery department -just sayin’.
If you are having trouble accepting your body, please look at mine and look at how socially unacceptable my boobs are. But also look how bossy, snatched and GLOWY I look! I’m living my best life and my boobs aren’t going to stop me from meeting someone amazing. -Chidera
