Our team shares their absolute FAVES of the week. What are your faves? Share with us in the comments below!
My favourite thing this week has been the YouTube video uploaded by Ashley Tisdale and her husband Chris performing a cover of Robyn’s Dancing On My Own with Lea Michelle
If you are suffering a Glee/High School Musical withdrawal you can get your fix here, I have had it on repeat for the past 24hr’s and it has replaced Calum Scott’s version on my playlist
My fave of the week is Kendrick Lamar! I went to his concert in Toronto last night and fell in love. The ACC was packed and the show couldn’t have been more live and electric! So what do I think of The Damn Tour? Damnnnnnnnn! 😉
My Friday Fave is Michael Phelps vs. Great White Shark on Shark Week. I know this show was a little controversial because people thought that Phelps would be racing a real life shark, instead of the stimulation he actually ‘raced’ against, but, in my eyes both Phelps and Shark Week can do no wrong – plus Phelps totally kicked butt only ‘losing’ by 2 seconds. Anytime I get to watch Phelps swim I am a happy girl!
Are sharks man eaters? Are we on the menu? Consider how many millions of people are in the ocean daily and how well equipped apex sharks are to kill their prey. If we were really a target for sharks thousands of people would be 'attacked' daily yet they're not. Do you feel safe swimming? You're actually more likely to drown than be killed by a shark. Water safety should be a priority when entering it, whether you're swimming in an ocean or a pool. Always stay within your limits, always dive with a buddy and never be afraid to ask for help if you feel uncomfortable. Sharks are not the enemy, they're misunderstood, beautiful and intelligent animals that need our protection not mislabeling. I’ve had a huge crush on Jason Bateman since the 80’s, so hearing about his new Netflix drama series Ozark – of course I had to binge watch! I watched the entire season this past Saturday and it did not disappoint. In the series, Jason plays a money manager who drags his family to the Missouri Ozarks to launder money for a drug lord. Co-star Laura Linney also shines in this series. You don’t have to be a Bateman fan to watch, you just have to love good drama!
I’m really into this new(ish) app called Drop. It’s a loyalty program that allows you to link your credit or debit to track your everyday spending and rewards you for your purchases. I love it because you can earn rewards on top of your existing loyalty programs, without racking up debt or surcharges because you can link your debit card too. Plus it’s Canadian! Every 1,000 points you earn by making purchases at major retailers like McDonalds, H&M, Uber, Starbucks, Walmart and Amazon gets you a $1 rebate that you can redeem for a gift card. And depending on your spending habits, this can add up quick. With life costing more and more every day for millennials (or anyone, really), it feels good to be rewarded for your spending in a way that’s convenient and easy. Every little bit counts!
