What We’re Listening To June 2016
Bring on the parties, road trips with friends and hours spent lounging by the pool (finally!) But what would any of these moments be without a great summer soundtrack? We’ve rounded up some of our favourite tunes out there for an awesome June 2016 playlist. Happy jammin!
Into You by Ariana Grande
She’s gone from broadway musical, Nickelodeon star, to Billboard chart bombshell. This song is just a taste of her brand new album Dangerous Woman. We know you’ll be asking for more.
One Dance by Drake Ft. Kyla & Wizkid
We have a feeling this will be everyone’s summer jam. If you haven’t already purchased Views (2016), we suggest you do it already! This laid back Afrobeat is made for a good dance session. Just don’t take your moves from Drizzy’s Hot Line Bling video.
Kill Em With Kindness by Selena Gomez
Selena’s vibe lately is all sorts of flawless. This new hit is actually a continuation/revival of her “The Heart Wants What It Wants” track. Watch the two videos and take a lesson from Selena’s new found strength and attitude!
Don’t Let Me Down by The Chainsmokers Ft. Daya
Oh the remix potential! The Chainsmokers seem to be taking the music world by storm with their EDM Trap sound lately. But it’s 17 year old Daya who absolutely slayed with her vocals, bringing these artists front and centre into the mainstream.
This Is What You Came For by Calvin Harris Ft. Rihanna
The duo has done it again! This chilled-out EDM track tells the story of a girl who knows exactly how to give and get attention. The song is sexy, joyful and gets you pumped up for new love- just in time for new summer romances.
Gold by Kiiara
If you haven’t already listened to her Album Low Kii Savage, you’re missing out on a whole array of hit summer tunes. This former store-clerk turned pop star has given us an alternative R&B sound we’ll be addicted to for a while.
Light It Up by Major Lazer Ft Nyla & Fuse ODG
We’ve been Major Lazer fans for quite some time now. We love this Jamaican artist’s ability to marry electronic and Caribbean rhythms seamlessly. Light It Up meets all of our expectations with a great sound and uplifting theme of getting back on your feet after hard times.
Don’t Mind by Kent Jones
If you took the Dubsmash #DontMindChallenge, you already love this song….. NEXT!
Me Too by Meghan Trainor
Jump on the M-Train and blast this song as you’re getting ready to step out. Your confidence and energy levels will hit the roof before your stiletto even hits the pavement.
