Every month Annabelle and Melinda sit around the office talking about what they got in their Ipsy bags – so we thought why not share it with everyone else! Here’s what we loved, hated, and can’t wait to try again!
Annabelle Melinda
Sundays Nail Polish in the shade No 28. This is my first non-toxic nail polish so I am excited to see how it wears. It’s a cement grey with a lavender undertone. I am still in love with summer colours so this one will have to wait until the fall. They claim that the “bottle shape and brush is optimized for precise and quick application” – Retails for $18USD
Be a Bombshell Eyeshadow in the colour Taj Mahal. It is a highly pigmented gold, shimmery but not sparkly, if you know what I mean 😉 . I think it is going to make my blue eyes pop and is a nice transition colour into fall – Retails for $7CDN
The Balm Luminizer in the shade Kuwakaribisha is probably my favourite in the bag, and not just because I love the packaging. It is the perfect highlight for the eyes -just the right amount of shimmer and not too pale. It is a very tiny sample but I am okay with that, as I don’t think there is a shadow on this planet that I have actually ever finished. It doesn’t appear to come as a single from the brand, but you can find it in their Bon Voyage Vol II palette which retails for $39.50 USD. But you can always find great deals on The Balm from Rexall stores.
Nourishing Coconut Milk Facial Lotion with hibiscus by the brand Promise Organics. I haven’t heard of this brand before but I am excited to give it a go. Anything with coconut in it is good for your skin, right? I have combination skin so I am curious to see how my skin reacts to it. Full size retails for $18.91CDN
Excessive Lash mascara – by the brand Makeup For Ever which is one of my favourites. I have to admit I haven’t tried this yet but you can never have too many mascaras in my opinion, and anything purse size is perfect to me. Full size retails for $31.00CDN
Come Clean face scrub by the brand Hey Honey. Annabelle told me she loves this brand. Honey is all the rage in skin care these days. I love a good scrub and this one claims to leave skin cleaner, smoother and brighter and who doesn’t want to achieve that. Retails for $30 CDN
Yadah Silky Fit BB Power Brightening Concealer with SPF 34. The brand comes from Malaysia and the product looks to be full-size. This gives a nice brightening effect and has a natural finish, but it is definitely not full coverage. You could see my peach corrector under it, so this is definitely for a more natural makeup day. It contains Niacinamide, Arbutin and Morus Alba Bark Extract. Retails for $17.28 CDN – but if you sign up for their newsletter you will get 20% off your first order and until Sept 16 they are having a 31% off site wide sale
Steve Laurant Liquid Eyeliner another new indie brand to me and it is cruelty free. I have been wearing Liquid eyeliner since I was 12, it was a must for my dance competitions and I haven’t been without it since. I like that it gives me a nice clean line and stays put all day. A clean smooth crisp line gives me a feminine feel and defines my eye in the perfect way. Retails for $30CDN
Pores Be Pure Skin Clarifying Mud Mask – Strawberry & Yarrow. Who doesn’t love a good mud mask? I don’t use them too often as they tend to dry my skin out but I am definitely going to use this on my nose and cheeks on my multi-mask days. This is a sample size approx. 1/3 the size of the full product and is made by the Australian brand Formula 10.0.6. Retails for $8.99
I received the Excessive Lash mascara – by the brand Makeup For Ever. I never finish a mascara before the 3 month mark so these trial sizes are perfect for me. They are also fantastic because I get to try different ones and see what kind of effect they have on my lashes. Full size retails for $31.00CDN
