It’s officially summer and for me that means time spent by the pool reading an entertaining chick lit book. I don’t know what it is about summer but I feel far less guilty reading what I call “fluffy” books. I guess that Summer = no school mentality continues on into adulthood and that works just fine for me.
This week I finished C.J. Duggans book Paris Lights, which you can download for free now on Kindle.
The main character Claire is lovable, her romance interest sounds yummy, he is a chef after all and the supporting characters are great. It has just enough wanderlust, romance and quirky escapades to keep you interested and entertained. It is an easy, predictable read with a good pace; perfect for lazy afternoons in the sun
My fav of the week is the contemporary dance class at The Underground Dance Centre on Saturday mornings. I tried it this past weekend and it was such a great way to start my day / weekend!
I’m so excited for the world’s largest rubber duck coming to Toronto during the annual Redpath Waterfront Festival from July 1 to 3. The rubber duck will be 61 feet tall, 79 feet wide and 89 feet long – this 30,000 pound rubber duck is a copy of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman‘s Rubber Duck sculpture. All my childhood dreams will come true!
My Friday fave is Sears Canada. I absolutely love how they have ‘rebranded’ and how they are talking to their audience shoppers via social media. Their new look is worth taking the time to check them out.
Wild Thoughts by DJ Khaled ft. Rihanna, Bryson Tiller is totally my obsession this week. I’ve had this track on repeat this entire week and I can’t seem to get enough. Sampling Santana’s “Maria Maria” from back in the day, this sultry, sizzling latin beat is just what I need to get myself into summer-mode. Have you seen the music video? It’s FIRE!!! Check it out
