I’m always on the lookout for new products to swap into my fall skincare routine and if you are reading this, you probably are too! After hearing about Olay’s Foaming Whip Body Wash, you know we had to try it.
I’ve never put too much time into my shower routine, I like to keep it simple. That’s why I thought this would be a great addition, it seems way less messy compared to liquid body washes. I’m curious to see if this body wash will amp up my routine, or fall short of something I could potentially use!
First Impression
One thing I was worried about going into this review is that this body wash feels very light in the bottle. I thought that it was possible that I wouldn’t be getting as much product as expected.
If you’ve done any research on Olay’s previous whip products like me, you’d know they’ve had mixed reviews based on the fact that reviewers felt like there was less product provided for more money. I can happily say that after using this body wash for over 3 weeks now I still feel like the bottle has some weight to it… impressive for quite a light bottle!
The Lather:
This product is extremely easy to apply, you don’t need a loofa or anything. Simply spray the product into your hand, lather a bit and apply to your skin. I was actually shocked by how much product seemed to expand out of the bottle after one spray but I wasn’t the biggest fan of applying a shaving cream like substance to my body, it felt a little weird. Anyways, that’s something I could get used to if I liked the product enough.
When the product is sprayed, what seems like only a bit of product actually expands to more the moment you start lathering it into your skin. The consistency is very cloud-like, lathering easily and leaving your skin moisturized all day with no overwhelming scent.
The Scent & Ingredients
This foaming body wash comes in three different scents: White Strawberry & Mint, Shea Butter and Lavender. All of these scents were light and refreshing and didn’t have too heavy of a fragrance. But, White Strawberry & Mint had to be my favourite, the mint balanced out the strawberry perfectly and created a scent I’ve never experienced before. There was just a tinge of a chemical smell after you spray the bottle though, which I can assume is something to do with the way the product comes out.
The ingredients themselves seemed to be very chemical based and you can almost tell. This was my least favourite part of the product. The ingredients included a couple things I could barely pronounce, but that explains where the bit of chemical smell came from at least.
Final Thoughts
In my past, I’ve spent nothing more than $5 on body wash and it usually lasts me 6-8 months. In this products case, I feel like you would definitely be getting less product for your money, which may be a deal breaker for some people.
But, because this product is a spray product instead of a bottle, it’s impossible to tell how much is in this product compared to a liquid body wash. I would consider this a luxury body wash. If you really love pretty smelling body washes, this could be one for you, but if you aren’t too picky in the first place it won’t elevate your shower experience that much!
