Well it’s officially Fall, which means sandal season has come to an end and beckoned in cozy knits and closed toes. As the weather begins to transition and the temperature drops, your wardrobe will inevitably change.
From tank tops to sweaters and bare legs to jeans, Fall is about keeping warm, so it only makes sense that your shoes reflect this transition as well. While there are always going to be some funky shoe styles that fall under the fast fashion trend (to which I recommend limiting yourself to one of these per season) there are a few must-have styles that you can update every year or two that help to round out your Fall wardrobe.
So without further adieu, here are my 3 must-have shoes for Fall styled with 3 different outfits creating 9 individual looks for your viewing pleasure.
Sock Booties
A modern take on the classic bootie staple that came into style several years ago, the sock bootie has an allure that is reminiscent of that classically cool girl you knew in high school; she doesn’t try too hard but somehow looks effortlessly chic. Styled with a white button-up and denim and throw on a leather jacket to up the ante for a fun date night, or make them cutesy for work with an uber-girly dress. Want to hit the streets for a girls night, try pairing them with an outfit that pops like this colourful sweater and silk midi skirt in rust with the newest trend, the belt bag.

Pointed Toe Slingbacks
Slingbacks are one of the best transitionary shoes for Fall. A closed toe with an open back accommodates both those mid-temp days and a cooler night. That, and something about them just screams “classy.” So dress up a button up and denim for the office and add a blazer, sight-see in a floral dress and belt bag, or take date night out on the town with a colourful and girly ensemble adding a ponytail and basket bag for good measure.

Classic Kicks
If anything has come out of 2018, it’s the return of the 90s sneaker. Classic and a bit clunky, the 90s sneaker is here to replace your white chucks and give off major street style vibes. Seen on the likes of the Hadids, Kardashians and every fashion blogger in between, these kicks seem to be here for the long haul so pair them with your button up and denim for a chill Sunday morning brunch, your girly dress for an arcade date night, or your sweater and midi skirt for an adventure filled day.
