My fave of the week are my Adidas Climacool leggings. I have been on a fitness kick since the end of last year and lets just put it this way, like most people, when I work out, I SWEAT. I find the standard Aritzia cotton leggings just do not stand a chance compared to the Climacool material. It actually keeps me less sweaty during my workouts and doesn’t leave me with an embarrassing bum sweat stain LOL. These leggings can be quite expensive (I actually got mine at an Adidas warehouse sale), but seriously, they are the best workout leggings I own and I need to get more. Bonus: my butt doesn’t become completely see through when I bend over – it’s a win – win!

If you haven’t eaten at Kupfert and Kim yet, then seriously what are you doing?! Honestly, I usually skip breakfast in the morning but I’ve discovered the Kupfert and Kim Almond Smoothie Bowl and OMG I’ve been converted. The quick-service restaurant is both vegan and gluten free and the food tastes SO GOOD you would never even know. This particular bowl has almond butter, avocado, dates, chia, hemps seeds, gluten free granola and more. All the ingredients are super healthy and starts my day off in the best way!

Lately I have been trying my hand at a few vegan recipes, trying to make that healthier transition isn’t always the easiest but I’m determined! This weeks Friday Fave is my cooking motivation, a yummy Roasted Beet Hummus and a gorgeous Guacamole created by the amazing, The Little Almond.
He creates amazing sweet and savoury dishes that will have you drooling and his images make any foodie, vegan or not very inspired to try their hand at cooking something new.

My fave this week was the release of the new Childish Gambino video for his song This Is America. If you haven’t checked it out already, this video is a game changer for the rap community. It is a work of art that hits sensitive topics of race, lifestyle in America and how African American communities struggle with police violence. It communicates that African American culture has found haven in gang violence, drugs, and gun activity while the rest of America turns a blind eye. It even eludes to the Charleston Church shooting that happened in 2015.
I may not be doing it justice because this video is so much more than that, but this may be the most controversial video of the year and it reflects the current status of black culture in America in an unfiltered way. Watch it and let us know what YOU think. Thank you, Donald Glover, for starting a conversation with your work!

If you aren’t into Self Help books but always wondered if reading one would actually help you then this is the book for you! I recently picked up Unf*ck Yourself by Gary John Bishop, and it’s pretty awesome. Gary warns you by letting you know that if you are easily offended then this is not the book for you, however, I’m totally game for it.
His book really just reminds you that you are the only thing that stands in your way. Being the best version of yourself is a matter of looking into your life and deciding that you aren’t going to be in your way anymore. He wants you to get out of your head and into your life!
