When the beautiful faces that grace our screens, coffee tables and thoughts go home, they are faced with the exact same concerns that us regular people are worried about. The glitz, glamour, smoke and lights are all replaced with the real world – one that is in desperate need of help – from the environment to giving charity.
On the bright side however, some celebrities are not only genius in the world of the arts, but giving back when they have a spare second to help our world flourish. Here is a list of some of those celebrities helping our planet!
Diego Luna
When a devastating hurricane rocked Mexico earlier this year, Diego Luna and his good friend Gael Garcia were the first to reach out and help its victims. Garnering international support, they have managed to take on this initiative for a fund that is donating 100 percent of its proceeds to people who need it by building schools, homes and communities that were destroyed. Over 1 million raised in 1 month alone – now that’s awesome!
Shailene Woodley
Talk about speaking up! The young actress Shailene Woodley is outspoken and proud. She is the co-founder of the organisation called All It Takes and aims to cultivate leadership for young teens and children to be the change they want to see in their own environments. She is also a huge advocate for protecting the environment at any cost – she even got arrested while protesting against a proposed oil pipeline. This girl has no fear when it comes to the environment!
Leonardo Di Caprio
In 1998, The Leonardo Dicaprio Foundation came to life and has been protecting humanitarian issues since. Through campaigns, projects and hands on practices, Mr Di Caprio has bee proactive at getting the most out of our precious earth while keeping it safe from harm. He also serves on the board of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), as well as several others. This guy is using his strength for the better – that’s for sure!
Alicia Silverstone
The once uptight Cher Horowitz from Clueless has taken a clue and wants us to as well – Alicia Silverstone is one green mama! She is a spokeswoman for PETA, has participated in numerous campaigns to save animals and is a huge advocate of supporting vegetarianism and vegan lifestyles. She often posts about the correlation between clean eating and the environment. Definitely a change from the high fashion Cher -Alicia is saving the earth one step at a time!

Turns out The Hulk has powers beyond his physique – Mark Ruffalo is challenging the world with his green outlook and steady endurance. He is a founding member of two non-profits The Solutions Project and Water Defense and a human rights activist in every sense of the title.
