You may like to think that your fashion style is original, unlike anyone you’ve seen before. Or perhaps you think you ‘blend’ into society with your lack of imagination and style sense. Either way you look at it, we are vastly impacted by our clothing choices by the media, celebrities and by our peers. Where do all of these ideas come from? None other than from the biggest events catered to fashion! The New York, London, Paris and Milan dedicated fashion weeks are leaders in creating, advocating and showcasing predictions to our personal wardrobes, even those of us who are less exciting when it comes fashion….yes even you are impacted by the runway 😉
Let’s take a look at some of the trends to watch for this coming year - remember although it may not be an exact replica of what you are seeing, somehow you may end up with a similar pattern, texture, silhouette or colour re-occurring in your own personal closet.
Eccentric Vibes
While a little bias when it comes to clothing designer Burberry (slightly obsessed), I feel that they can do no wrong with their newest style clash. A contrast to the traditional nova-check meets tailored chic, this year showcases a lot of British influence - mixed textures, overlapping layers and a whole lot of untucked tailored pieces. Fresh and modern, this style also brings comfort. Remember you can never go wrong with a traditional Burberry piece.
Nudes With Punch
Designer Salvador Ferragamo has taken fashion to contrast exactly what people have been wearing for centuries and turned it inside out. At this show, nude shades are complimented by rich pinks, emerald greens, reds and plum colours took the show. The idea is to remain neutral while adding a little punch of colour or texture. Simple and elegant.

Bold Summer
Micheal Kors has taken pattern, print and a whole lot of colour to a whole new level! If you are sporting anything this summer, think big prints and stand out from the traditional white linen, softness that once was. Go big or go home was the focus of the MK show this season!

Classic Glamour
When it comes to beauty, Versace has always had a simplified, refined and classic look. Not surprised that this years show has revived all of those things. Their new line is full of clean lines, buttons, accented textures but not overly done. Just simply beautiful formal wear! Think Hollywood circa 1960 - just perfect! Get out those pea coats and get ready to go back to floor length dresses, understated hair, and simple jewels for your next event. To top off the show, Donatella Versace brought retired models (super-models) to showcase the endless elegance of dressing glamorous - icing on the cake.
