Bucket-list Restaurants Across The Globe
Great dining experiences make up most of our great vacation stories. We love to tell our friends about our wonderful and sometimes weird culinary adventures. So here is a list of restaurants that are sure to give you lots of tales to tell – some for their delicious food, some for their fab location, some for their zany theme and some for all three!
Toronto, Canada – Joso’s
A sensual treat for the eyes, ears and mouth, Joso’s is an intimate (literally!) dining experience. Enjoy the Siciliana Spaghettini , an award winning dish made with cuttlefish ink and ogle the unique artistic impressions of the restaurant’s namesake Joso Spraljia.
New York, USA – Katz’s Delicatessen

Since 1888, Katz’s has served up the real New York deli experience. They take pastrami seriously (cured for 30 days!) and exemplify brusque NY service (don’t lose your ticket!) and yes, this is the setting for the “I’ll have what she’s having” scene from When Harry Met Sally.
Bray, England - The Fat Duck

This is the place we’ve all heard about - the original Heston Blumenthal creation. The 14 course tasting menu is a multi-sensory experience that is beyond imagination. Perhaps you fancy an Alice in Wonderland themed teacup of mock turtle soup: a pocket watch formed of dried beef stock covered in gold leaf that dissolves as “tea” is poured, or perhaps a palate cleanser of scrambled egg and bacon ice cream made with liquid nitrogen. Uh, yes please!
Mougins, France – La Place de Mougins

In Mougins you really cannot go wrong with any dining choice. This culinary destination is close to Cannes and Nice but is a quiet jewel in the provence countryside. Choose La Place De Mougins not only for an unforgettable taste and visual experience but also because you can enjoy the same views that Picasso did, as he chose to live out his days in Mougins and to linger at the courtyard tables of this very same restaurant.
Glencullen, Ireland – Johnny Fox’s Pub
As loyal “likers” you folks are the first to see two of our “NEW” starters being rolled out tomorrow - after a long… Posted by Johnnie Foxs Pub (Official FB Page) on Monday, December 15, 2014
Situated in the beautiful Dublin Mountains, this traditional Irish pub is the “highest pub in Ireland.” Although it is best known for it’s wonderful traditional live entertainment, this cozy pub continues to win awards for it’s exceptional menu as well. With the views, the music and the food, a stop here is all-encompassing. This could be the most comforting, welcoming experience of all your travels. Sláinte!
Bari, Italy– Grotta Palazzese

Southern Italy itself is a sumptuous overload for the senses, but how about dining in a cave…at the edge of the sea…by moonlight. Oh my goodness. You must experience this breathtaking location with a special someone because this is the height of romance. Luckily, this uniquely beautiful restaurant has direct access to a hotel!
Queenstown, New Zealand – Skyline Stratosphere
Yum… talk about a feast!www.skyline.co.nz/queenstown/restaurant Posted by Skyline Queenstown on Wednesday, January 6, 2016
This restaurant in the clouds will take your breath away, especially if you can time your gondola ride up or down to coincide with the sunset. The view is really the star here. A late-seating booking will allow you the time to linger and to take the photos that you will need to convey what words will not. Indescribably beautiful!
Tokyo, Japan – Ninja Akasaka
Posted by NINJA AKASAKA on Wednesday, January 2, 2013
There are all kinds of interesting (to put it mildly) dining venues in Tokyo… robots, Hello Kitty…but how about a dark, Ninja-themed experience? Steven Spielberg, Lady Gaga are just two of the mere mortals who have walked the maze-like passageways to a table. Japan has put the EXPERIENCE in experiential dining and Ninja Akasaka brings this to new heights. Be prepared for jaw-dropping surprises at your table, served up by sword wielding spy heroes. Shuriken star-blades grissini anyone?
Franschhoeck, South Africa – The Tasting Room
Foodies have long known that South Africa is a must-taste destination and The Tasting Room is the epi-centre. Consistently rated as one of the best in the world, this restaurant features the finest of Africa-inspired cuisine. World reknowned Margot Janse is the magician behind this “journey of taste.” This experience is focused on excellence and although there is no dress-code, you will feel like the VIP that you are.
Natal, Brazil - Casa de Taipa
Vai uma tapioca ai??? Posted by Casa de Taipa - Tapiocaria e cuscuzeria on Thursday, May 7, 2015
This festive restaurant has taken the delicious Brazilian street food, Tapiocaria, and turned it up a notch. Imagine pan-grilled tapioca pancakes filled with your choice of the most enticing fillings – sweet or savoury. The party in your mouth doesn’t stop there…you must save room for the incredible Mil Folhas - tapioca multi layer cake of doce de leite, caramelized bananas, cashews and coconut. O-M-G I might never leave!
