What makes you the best you?
Zivanka Markovic
We live in a world that is constantly evolving, and whether we realize it or not we are part of this process. Some of us might not even see that the habits we practice daily can impact our lives 2, 5 or 10 years down the road. That’s why it’s essential to constantly improve yourself. Life is incredible and we should enjoy every second while are reaching our highest potentials.
With that, how do we get to the core of our being and be the best we can be?
Self-awareness. Ask yourself what makes you uniquely you? What makes you happy or sad? How do you deal in certain situations of stress? Identify the good and then identify your bad habits and start replacing them with new ones; especially if these hold you back or are bad habits for your body.
I call this a mini make-over for your mind and body. This is all about taking care of yourself and feeding yourself with love and positivity. A side note: A book I highly recommend is ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ by Anthony Robbins. It’s one of my favourite books and has helped shape me to where I am today.
Creating a routine is the next step. This is putting those new habits in place and setting a schedule for yourself. When you have a set schedule you can be your absolute best! Examples of this are getting enough sleep, exercising daily and setting goals and achieving them. Make this a priority.
What do you want in life and how do you create it? That’s the next step. Knowing what you want and what your focus is helps create confidence and certainty in your actions. This also helps shape your end results. I highly suggest journaling. It’s something I do daily. Write down your top 3 goals for the next year and strategize ways you are going to achieve them. If your strategies fail, find another way to achieve your goal and don’t give up! Repeat this until you achieve what you want. When you understand and ask yourself why you want a specific goal it will help you stay on track.
Giving back is another way to being the best you. Ever notice how when you help others you suddenly feel amazing? It’s a known fact that people who give back, whether it’s through volunteering or donating, cultivate a higher self-esteem and overall well-being. This in turn helps enrich your sense of purpose while giving you perspective.
In addition to giving back is slowing down and enjoying your day to day. When you’re grateful you are giving yourself a gift of stillness. This is such a great habit if you want to be the best you! This can be done for 5 to 10 minutes a day. Practicing gratitude will help banish any negativity and helps you appreciate everything you’ve been blessed with. One quote I truly love is, “When you have an attitude of gratitude, you will be rewarded with more.”
Lastly, be yourself unapologetically. This means raising your standards, following your own intuition and having a set of values for yourself that you follow daily. Just because society puts an emphasis on certain things doesn’t mean you need to follow suit. Love what you love and do what you love. This is what makes you you; it’s what makes you tick.
When you practice these every single day, I promise that you will see your life unfold and you will discover the best you possible.
What do you guys think? How do you project the best version of you? Do share. xoxo
